I figured the NHL season is beginning to settle down enough to start weighing in on the performances so far.
For the U.S., Id say Miller has that starting job all locked up. This guy is in the frekkin zone and id put the early vezna on him. For Canada, the one guy id say whose start has hurt him is Lecavalier. One goal on the season thus far, and he wont make the team as a grinder thats for sure. -------------------- 'Sometimes when I'm trying to aim low with a slapper from the point I let go some really nasty Fulton Reed shit that bounces way up high on the glass.' - Mack

Hockey Central was saying Anderson should be looked at for his start in Colorado. I'm not sure you can disagree, he has been on fire, especially against Calgary the other night.
Toews and Getzlaf are off to a bit of slow starts IMO - albeit Getz is coming of the surgery do you think their chances are hurt at all? -------------------- INGLEWOOD JACK! INGLEWOOD JACK!

Anderson is playing out of his mind! But with Miller as competition, who knows...
Iginla is starting slow, but we all know he will make the team anyways. Marleau is on fire also. |

Just a reminder guys, this is in the Olympic forum. Please keep the comments related to players making or not making their respective Olympic team.
Gagne being out would appear to take him off the bubble and out of the picture. Luongo would be hard to justify as the starter if he misses an extended period of time. Perhaps Brodeur gets the nod one more time? -------------------- "Two percent of the people think; three percent of the people think they think; and ninety-five percent of the people would rather die than think."

Id agree with Chadd, Gagne seems to be out of the running. I'm also wondering with Brytzgalov playing out of his mind... does he get a serious look at as the starter for Russia? I haven't seen how Nabby is doing, and Varlamov has not yet taken the reigns in Washington. Also Markov's injury makes Russia's question mark even bigger.

What about Stamkos getting a look for Team Canada?

Alex Goligowski is making a HUGE case for himself right now for the US.

What about Stamkos getting a look for Team Canada? Never thought of that but the way he is scoring he definitely might get a shot. From here on out do they have another camp or do they just announce the team? -------------------- INGLEWOOD JACK! INGLEWOOD JACK!

Assuming they can get healthy the Russians are looking at a very deep squad this year, lots of NHL experience + players that can do the finesse moves as well as the power struggles in the corners.
I hope all the big guns, on all teams can get healthy for Feb. The Olympics won't be the same without the big names. -------------------- It's not figure skating. You know what? From here on out do they have another camp or do they just announce the team? No camp, no way they would be able to find the time. Just Yzerman, Babcock and the rest keeping an eye on it and probably having a few meetings to hammer it out before the games . -------------------- "I skate awesome.
