Warrior Mac Daddy

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I just got a quick question about the Warrior line of sticks. I am continuing to see more and more of the "Dolomites" each and every time I watch a NHL game, as most of you probobly are as well. But seeing as how the Mac Daddy is Warriors top of the line stick (besides the dent-bladed Kronik)I was wondering why I didnt see many of these used. Ive heard that the bright colors can be distractive and annoying, so what some NHLers are using is a Dolomite painted Mac Daddy. Is there any truth to this?

Thanks.

Warrior has a history of painting sticks with various paint schemes, which is why some guys are using a Royale in the NHL, but it's usually just a repainted MacDaddy or Dolomite.

Having said that it could also be because the Dolomite is such an awesome stick. I was using Bauer XXX then NikeBauer XXX-lites until recently when I bought a Dolomite and it's the best feeling composite I've ever used. Seems like it's really popular amongst players for the same reason... great puck feel. It's much more solid feeling than an XXX, which to me is similar to a Mac Daddy

Mike Comrie uses a MacDaddy with the regular paintjob, and that thing is freaking LOUD. He's the only guy I can think of that I've seen using that stick regularly. I don't know if guys would not use it because of the colours or go to the trouble of getting a different paintjob put on if they liked the stick, though. I don't think it's really that much brighter than the yellow synergies, and it seemed like just about everyone had one of those for a while. I don't imagine that many players are that picky about the colour of their stick, I think it's probably more that they just like the Dolomite better.

No, I would say the quick turnaround on custom patterns is why most use the Dolomite.

You do realize that the XXX IS the Mac Daddy right? Innovative made Bauer's sticks until Warrior bought them. The XXX Lite is the same technology but different manufacturer.

Thanks for all of the info everyone. I was unaware that the XXX Lite and the Mac Daddy were the same stick. I am on the market for a new stick and seeing as how the "Dolomites" are everywhere in the NHL I thought one of those or the Mac Daddy would be a good fit. This season I have gone from a Easton Stealth, to a Easton Stealth CNT, to a NBH XXX Lite, and am now currently using a pro-stock Easton SyNergy SE. I like the feel and shot of all these sticks. Anyone have any opinions that would help me decide between a Mac Daddy and a Dolomite.

Thanks again.

Sakic = Draper?

So would that make the Dolomite the NBH One90?

Also, has anybody used both, or either one of the Warriors? Any suggestions on picking one or the other? (Mac Daddy vs. Dolomite) I know the Mac Daddy is a TRUE one-piece, but other than that are there any significant differences between the two? Performance wise?

Thanks again.

Not exactly a true one-piece but seeing as you've interpreted some of the info I've given you so far, I'll leave it at that.

Ok, let me ask this question...

What is Warrior Hockey's equivelent to a 2006 Easton Stealth CNT Grip, 85 flex, with a Sakic curve?

Thanks.

i can't necessarily answer any of your specific questions, but I was in the market to get a new stick earlier this year, and faced a very similar decision. I ended up getting the Mac Daddy, and am extremely happy. I definitely can't say ive use some of the kinds of the high end sticks you have, but i love everything about my Mac Daddy. Coming from the mission L-2, i've noticed a definite extra kick on my slap shot, and the feel is awesome. I'm hoping to pick up a Dolomite pro-stock some time soon to see what its like (a kid on my team has one, but its to small for me, and not my curve) but the Mac Daddy was everything I was looking for, then again, i'm not you and i don't know what YOU are looking for.

So JR, Dolomite or Mac Daddy?

I asking what peoples personal preferences are. Either the Mac Daddy or the Dolomite.

What are you doing? Writing a book?

hey man, do you mind trying to find a more positive resolution to any issues you may have? Or at least keep your rude slurs to PM's or something.... you know not everyone stands for use of the word "homo"... just isn't right brotha, there's no place for it on a forum, and I'm certain there's no place for it here.

Oh... that was good MB226. You really got me.

My point is that 20 questions is a game that is played by 3 year olds and authors of books and articles. Let's try to do a little research for some of these questions, as I'm sure JR's opinions on sticks has been slewn throughout this web site. He's consistently giving input and feedback, so it can't be hard to find. Call me when you can watch an "R" rated movie and I'll send you a good show filmed in 1977 when a stick was a stick and players figured out what worked best for them on their own. Tough guy.

... Since you know exactly what stick you want, why does it have to be a Warrior? Why not just get another one of the one you already know you like?

Because using what you know and like isn't cool.

HAHAHA

Of course. Gotta get the flashy stuff. Plus everyone just loves trying out new sticks. I'm not going to lie, even if I have a stick I like, I still like to try out other ones. It's human nature.
