Removing Grip from Stick

Hi, I know there are alot of threads about adding grip to sticks but I was wondering is there a way to remove grip on a stick? I don't really like the grip feel. Is there a quick and easy way to remove it?

Fine grit sandpaper a.k.a. higher number grit although I would not use it...
