Drill bit for making vent hole

Recommended Posts

I'd take them to your LHS and ask them to put 2-4 eyelets in the bottom of your skate. That way the holes are finished with the metal circling it and won't get bigger, and it looks much cleaner than random drill holes.

My understanding was the holes were mainly for quicker drying time (which is mostly done with the insoles removed), I don't think there is much impact when using plastic insoles during the skate.

This ^^. Or drill it yourself and surround the hole with epoxy/superglue (where the fraying is from the drill bit). It will not spread either using this method.

Measure it off the replacement rivet or existing hole in the holder. Sorry if that does not help to much. I have used 3/16" diameter pop rivets with backing washers before to replace a couple that rusted out on their own. So I would guess 3/16" would do it.
