baking skates...especially Mission

Recommended Posts

I am sorry if this is somewhat repetitive but I just really dont want to ruin my new skates. I have mission s500's and I want to bake them, but there is no place in augusta that bakes skates and I dont know where the nearest place to get it done is. What would I do if I wanted to bake them at home if possible? Let me know if it cannot be done cause I would rather break them in the old way and not ruin my skates :) Thanks a ton

My S500s broke in very quickly without baking. It's better to skate in them than void the warranty by throwing them in your oven. Try looking up shops in nearby cities and see if they have an oven if you really want them baked.

DON'T BAKE THEM IN YOUR OWN OVEN...IT IS NOT WORTH IT....

Try and find some shops that either have a bauer or Graf oven...They are basically identical to ours.

Otherwise, do it the old fashion way. Good luck....

I did my Z-Airs in a standard oven. If you do the same, just be sure to heat the oven to approx. 190 degrees and then turn the oven OFF before you put the skates in. The Heating process of the oven may burn them.

Question, Justin...

I had called Mission CS a long time ago and they told me 140 for the temperature...however the Mission oven cannot be adjusted, and it's a whole lot hotter than 140 degrees. I have a Bauer oven with the temp control at work...what temp should I bake Missions at?

I saw the SkateBake .pdf on the website. Says 175 degrees. Guess I've been underbaking them...

Nothing worse than getting a raw skate and having to send it back to the kitchen................
